Was zijde met de hand in lauw water (max. 30°C). Gebruik een mild wasmiddel voor wol/zijde. Beweeg het kledingstuk rustig door het water en laat het niet weken. Spoel koud uit. Knijp het water er zachtjes uit; wring niet. Was donkere en felle kleuren apart.

Rol het kledingstuk kort in een droge handdoek om het vocht op te nemen. Leg daarna plat te drogen op een schone handdoek en trek voorzichtig in vorm. Hang niet nat op en vermijd direct zonlicht en hittebronnen.

Strijk zijde op lage warmte (1 stip), bij voorkeur binnenstebuiten. Gebruik een dunne persdoek tussen strijkijzer en stof. Strijk met lichte druk en zonder waternevel om vlekken te voorkomen. Eventueel heel weinig stoom gebruiken.
