Je wast zijde het liefst met de hand in koud tot lauw water (max. 30°C). Gebruik een speciaal wasmiddel voor wol/zijde. Wrijf niet, laat niet weken en wring niet. Spoel kort en voorzichtig. Wil je toch in de machine wassen? Kies het fijne/zijdeprogramma, lage toeren (max. 400–600) en gebruik een waszak.

Doe je zijde niet in de droger. Druk het water er zacht uit met een handdoek, zonder te wringen. Leg het kledingstuk plat te drogen op een schone handdoek of hang het zorgvuldig op. Droog uit direct zonlicht om verkleuring te voorkomen.

Strijk zijde op lage warmte (1 stip) als de stof nog heel licht vochtig is. Strijk binnenstebuiten of leg een schone doek tussen de bout en de stof. Gebruik weinig tot geen stoom en beweeg de bout rustig zonder te blijven staan op één plek.
