Accessibility Statement

We believe everyone should be able to shop at GENTS — whether you have low vision, are colorblind, use only a keyboard, or rely on a screen reader. Here you can read how our webshop is built for accessibility, what we've tested, and where we're still improving.

The Standard

We build our webshop according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. This is the standard required by the European Accessibility Act for online retailers.

What to Expect

  • The entire webshop is fully keyboard accessible. 'Skip to content' bypasses the menu, and a clear focus indicator shows your location—even on dark backgrounds.
  • Color is never the only way we communicate something. An item's color is described in words, sold-out sizes are crossed out, and error messages explain in text what went wrong.
  • Text and buttons have sufficient contrast with their background.
  • You can zoom up to 400% or select a larger font size in your browser: the page will adapt without requiring horizontal scrolling.
  • Buttons, images and form fields are described so that a screen reader such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA or Narrator can read aloud what is displayed and what a button does.
  • Videos can be paused. If you've enabled 'reduce motion' on your device, they'll remain still.

How We Verify This

Last checked on 10 September 2026. We have automatically tested the key pages — home, category, product, search, shopping bag, checkout, login and customer service — with axe-core and manually reviewed them for keyboard navigation, visible focus, zoom and narrow screen display. We have resolved the issues we found.

What's not quite right yet

  • Our product videos have no sound and no audio description. Everything you see in them is also shown in the product photos and description.
  • You pay on the secure page of our payment partner Mollie or your own bank. We have little control over its accessibility.
  • Some of our information pages have been carried over from our previous webshop. Should you encounter any issues, please let us know.

Experiencing an issue?

Email us at klantenservice@gents.nl or ask us in one of our stores. Tell us which page it was and what went wrong — we'll help you out and improve the site where we can.

Not satisfied?

If we cannot resolve this together, you may file a complaint with the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) via ACM ConsuWijzer.
