You usually encounter this dress code in the work environment or at occasions that are not too formal. Think, for example, of a first date. But what does this mean in terms of the perfect outfit? That you have a lot of choices. Fortunately, GENTS knows the do’s and don’ts of the etiquette that comes with this dress code. Mainly, it is the shirt important for an authentic Smart Casual look. In other words, a modern shirt forms the basis of your outfit.

Smart Casual shirt with matching trousers

When you are going to put together a Smart Casual outfit, first choose a nice, elegant shirt. This forms the basis around which you create the rest of your outfit. Therefore, choose a modern shirt that fits your body perfectly. For example, if you are slim-built, a well-tailored shirt is highly recommended. Besides the trousers and the stylish shirt, you can optionally wear a blazer or sports jacket. According to the Smart Casual etiquette, it is not mandatory. Usually, a sports jacket is only worn if the weather or situation allows it. So, for example, if it is very warm, you can leave the sports jacket hanging in the closet. Thanks to the comfortable and casual nature of the Smart Casual etiquette, you have full control over this choice. In winter, you can also perfectly wear a turtleneck sweater under your sports jacket with this dress code.

Accessories according to the Smart Casual etiquette

Finally, there are the accessories for your perfect outfit. When the invitation says “Smart Casual dress code,” you do not necessarily have to wear a tie on.
