Je wast zijde het liefst met de hand in koud tot lauw water (max. 30°C) met een mild wasmiddel voor wol/zijde. Beweeg het rustig; niet wrijven en niet laten weken. Toch in de wasmachine? Gebruik een waszak, kies fijnwas op 20–30°C en een lage snelheid (max. 600–800 toeren). Spoel koud en wring niet uit.
Niet in de droger. Druk het water voorzichtig uit met een handdoek. Laat liggend drogen op een schone handdoek of hang het op een brede hanger. Droog in de schaduw en vermijd direct zonlicht en hittebronnen.
Strijk op lage temperatuur (stand 1) terwijl de stof nog licht vochtig is. Strijk binnenstebuiten en gebruik een persdoek tussen strijkbout en stof. Gebruik geen of heel weinig stoom om vlekken te voorkomen. Druk niet hard om glansplekken te vermijden.
