Je wast microvezel op 30–40°C met een klein beetje vloeibaar wasmiddel. Gebruik geen wasverzachter of bleekmiddel; dat verstopt de vezels en vermindert het absorberend vermogen. Was met vergelijkbare kleuren. Sluit ritsen en klittenband en gebruik bij voorkeur een waszak. Vul de trommel niet te vol.
Je droogt microvezel het liefst aan de lucht, uit direct zonlicht. Gebruik je een droger, kies dan voor een lage temperatuur. Gebruik geen droogtrommeldoekjes; die laten een laagje achter op de vezels. Haal het artikel direct uit de droger om kreuken en statische lading te beperken.
Je strijkt microvezel bij voorkeur niet. Moet het toch, gebruik dan de laagste stand, zonder stoom, en leg een doek tussen het strijkijzer en de stof. Te veel hitte kan de vezels beschadigen.
