Je wast katoen het best op 30–40°C met gelijke kleuren. Keer het artikel binnenstebuiten. Gebruik een mild wasmiddel en geen bleekmiddel. Heb je een opdruk of borduursel? Gebruik dan een fijn wasprogramma of een waszak. Katoen kan iets krimpen bij de eerste wasbeurt.
Droog bij voorkeur aan de lijn om krimpen te beperken. Gebruik je een droger, kies dan lage temperatuur en haal het item er op tijd uit. Vorm het kledingstuk zachtjes in model terwijl het nog licht vochtig is. Vermijd direct zonlicht om verkleuring te voorkomen.
Strijk op middelhoge temperatuur. Keer het kledingstuk binnenstebuiten voor je gaat strijken. Heb je een opdruk? Strijk daar niet direct overheen; gebruik eventueel een persdoek. Stoom mag, als dat nodig is, op een lage stand.
