Je wast zijde het liefst met de hand in koud tot lauw water (max. 30°C). Gebruik een mild wasmiddel voor wol/zijde. Keer het artikel binnenstebuiten, beweeg het zachtjes door het water en spoel koud na. Laat niet weken, wring niet uit en gebruik geen bleekmiddel of wasverzachter.
Je droogt zijde aan de lucht. Niet in de droger. Druk overtollig water voorzichtig uit in een handdoek, vorm het artikel en leg het plat te drogen. Vermijd direct zonlicht en warmtebronnen om verkleuring en krimp te voorkomen.
Je strijkt zijde lauw op de laagste stand (één stip), bij voorkeur binnenstebuiten. Gebruik een persdoek of een kledingstomer op lage stand. Vermijd water sprayen rechtstreeks op de stof om vlekken te voorkomen.
