Was zijde met de hand in koud tot lauw water (max. 30°C). Gebruik een mild fijnwasmiddel voor zijde, zonder bleek. Laat niet weken en wring niet. Spoel kort en voorzichtig. Wil je toch de machine gebruiken? Kies dan het fijnwasprogramma, stop het kledingstuk in een waszak, en zet een lage centrifuge (max. 600 tpm). Was donkere en felle kleuren apart de eerste keren.
Druk het water er zachtjes uit, niet wringen. Leg het artikel plat te drogen op een schone handdoek en trek het in model. Vermijd de droogtrommel. Droog buiten direct zonlicht en weg van warmtebronnen. Hang drogen kan zijde uitrekken; plat drogen is het veiligst.
Strijk zijde binnenstebuiten op lage temperatuur (1 stip). Gebruik een persdoek tussen strijkijzer en stof. Licht stomen mag, houd het ijzer net boven de stof. Niet nat sprayen om vlekken te voorkomen. Strijk niet over prints of borduursels.
