Je wast leer niet in de wasmachine en ook niet met de hand. Maak het schoon met een zachte, licht vochtige doek of gebruik een speciale leerreiniger. Dep vlekken voorzichtig en wrijf niet. Gebruik geen bleekmiddel of agressieve schoonmaakmiddelen. Test een product altijd eerst op een onopvallende plek.
Stop leer niet in de droger. Laat het aan de lucht drogen op kamertemperatuur, uit direct zonlicht en weg van warmtebronnen zoals een radiator. Vorm het artikel terwijl het droogt, zodat het mooi in model blijft. Is het erg nat? Vul het dan licht op met wit papier dat niet afgeeft.
Je strijkt leer niet. Wil je kreukels verminderen? Hang het op een stevige hanger in een licht vochtige badkamer, zodat zachte stoom de vouwen ontspant. Strijk nooit direct op het leer. Als het echt moet, strijk dan alleen de voering op een lage stand met een schone katoenen doek ertussen en zonder stoom.
