Je wast suède niet in de wasmachine en ook niet met de hand. Gebruik geen bleekmiddel. Heb je een vlek? Dep voorzichtig met een schone, droge doek; wrijf niet. Laat het daarna drogen en borstel licht met een suèdeborstel. Is de vlek hardnekkig, breng het dan naar een professionele lederreiniging.
Je droogt suède aan de lucht, bij kamertemperatuur. Niet in de droger, niet op de verwarming en niet in direct zonlicht. Leg het artikel plat op een droge handdoek en breng het in vorm. Niet wringen of uitknijpen. Bij schoenen of tassen kun je papier erin stoppen om de vorm te behouden.
Je strijkt suède niet. Heb je toch lichte kreukjes? Hang het in een vochtige badkamer of gebruik een steamer op lage stand, op een paar centimeter afstand. Maak de stof niet nat en borstel daarna zachtjes na met een suèdeborstel.
