Basic Shirts for Men

Basic shirts are the shirts you wear most often: plain, understated and easy to combine. A white shirt, a light blue shirt and an ecru or light grey one together form the foundation that carries you through any working week. They work under every suit and every blazer, with or without a tie, and just as well worn open over chinos.

Why start with the basics?

With a few good basics in your wardrobe, there's no need to think in the morning. White is the most formal colour and belongs with a dark suit, a job interview or a wedding. Light blue is slightly softer and suits almost any colour of suit and tie. Ecru and other light shades give your outfit a warmer feel, beautiful with beige, brown and green.

The right fit

You wear a basic shirt often, so the fit has to be right. The collar closes without feeling tight, with just enough room left for one finger.
