Add a special touch with accessories - Gents

Easter weekend has barely ended, and the next round of celebrations and events is already on the horizon. King's Day is just around the corner, and a week later we all celebrate the freedom of the Netherlands. You don't need to dress as the Dutch flag, pennant included, to join in. Simply add a special touch to your outfit with accessories.

We thoroughly enjoyed the warm weather over Easter. With the bread and the Easter eggs barely behind us, we're already looking ahead to King's Day. The week after, you'll surely want to visit a Liberation Day festival. King's Day and Liberation Day are special occasions, and on 4 May we pause to remember the fallen. Do you want to show you're joining in the festivities, or do you plan to pay your respects with dignity to the victims of the Second World War? Today, GENTS shares advice on how to add a special touch to your outfit for these occasions with ease.

Orange above all!

The celebrations actually begin the evening before the real birthday: on King's Night, you let loose. Naturally, a true gentleman does so entirely in style. You could wear a full orange suit, if you still have one hanging in your wardrobe from the European or World Cup. An alternative is to deploy accessories cleverly. It is just as stylish and kinder to your wallet, too! Invest, for example, in an orange tie and matching cufflinks. Going for a truly festive look? Then consider orange braces complete with a bow tie in the same colour. Whatever you choose, GENTS got you covered!

Paying respect, then celebrating freedom

The week after we celebrate our king's birthday, the Remembrance of the Dead and Liberation Day are on the calendar. There is no specific outfit for these days as there is for King's Day. That doesn't mean you can't add a special touch with accessories. Days like these lend themselves to it perfectly: on 4 May understated, with a dark blazer and a subdued tie, and on 5 May a little more festive. Wear, for instance, the national 4 and 5 May lapel pin.

Don't have one? GENTS offers a selection of elegant lapel pins and boutonnières in its range. With a stylish red boutonnière or blue lapel pin, you show right away that you haven't forgotten these unique Dutch holidays. Not a fan of a pin on your blazer lapel? You can always opt for a pocket square or tie in the colours of the Dutch flag.

In short, dress to impress becomes remarkably simple with GENTS! Feel free to browse our range of accessories and add a special touch to your outfit!
