Je wast katoen op 30–40°C met soortgelijke kleuren. Keer het artikel binnenstebuiten. Gebruik een mild kleurwasmiddel. Gebruik geen chloor of bleek. Kies een fijn of normaal programma. Is wit katoen sterk bevuild? Dan kun je tot 60°C wassen.

Je droogt katoen het liefst aan de lijn of op een lage stand in de droger. Haal het snel uit de machine om kreuk te verminderen. Vermijd hoge hitte; katoen kan krimpen. Droog gekleurde items niet in fel zonlicht.
Je strijkt katoen op middelhoge temperatuur ( ). Gebruik stoom als dat nodig is. Strijk niet direct over prints of borduursels; keer het artikel binnenstebuiten of leg er een doek tussen.
